The title "Arbeitslosen" is a German word which means "the unemployed," plus the plural article "die." I prefer the German title to an English one because of its cool pronunciation and spelling. I want a word that begins with A, and I feel that "arbeitslos" contains more meanings than jobless or unemployed does.
This series of comics is about unemployed people, their feelings and difficulties they might experience.
I have to clarify that the unemployment rate in my country is not that much high. However, if a healthy adult is unemployed, he or she is likely to be labelled NEET or categorized as losers. In fact, the comics reflect my feelings of self-abhorrence to some degree. I used to blame myself for my impotence, for my inability to receive a decent job, and for my awkward performance in every job interview. It took me months to overcome my negative thoughts, and to finally admit the reality but never compromise.
I really know how it feels when everyone has a job except for me.
